Parents' Network
The Parents Network seeks to create a shared voice for vulnerable parents in Forth Valley.
The Network offers parents an opportunity to be part of a wide network across Forth Valley, uniting to inform professionals and keep up to date with current thinking on parenting.
The Network allows parents to share their experiences and difficulties, reflect on the practice of agencies involved in child protection, and encourages proposals for better practice.
Regular meetings enable parents to :
Meet each other
Share their experiences
Develop peer support
Organise projects to present their point of view
Make their voices heard collectively
The Network works in partnership with agencies seeking to improve their working strategies with vulnerable parents, and parents have worked on a range of projects to achieve this, for example:
Presenting workshops at conferences
Creating multimedia presentations
Sharing perspective on how health professionals communicate with parents.
