What does the Independent Advocacy Project do?

November 19th, 2011 by Nicola

We believe it is the person’s voice that is most important & aim to empower people to be involved in any decisions affecting their lives. We do this by supporting individuals to access & understand information, give time & support to think about their options & empower them to speak up or do so on their behalf.

Our independent advocacy project offers support to people experiencing a wide range of issues

Some of the areas we commonly offer support with include:

  • Support to access services
  • Support to express views to professionals
  • Support to understand your rights
  • Support to raise concerns regarding services
  • Support to attend court
  • Support in relation to Adult Support and Protection (Scotland) Act 2007
