What does the Parent’s Advocacy Project do?

November 18th, 2011 by Nicola

The main aim of the project is to provide support to parents attending any Child Protection meetings including Panels.  These can be difficult and confusing and our project aims to encourage full participation, better understanding and full engagement with all services.

Some of the most common things our project provides support for include:

  • Support to understand how the Children’s Hearing process works
  • Support to access independent, advocacy friendly legal advice
  • Support to speak with Children & Families social workers and departments appropriately
  • Support to understand letters and paperwork about any meetings or proceedings
  • Support to put forward your own views in Panels or any other meetings

If you are a parent or know a parent who would benefit from the support of our advocacy service please complete the referral form below or contact our main office.
